Women In Action

Shape Divider - Style tilt

A movement to address equality through inclusivity, recognition, and improved access

Picture

"Our Campaign's purpose is very simple: Removing barriers, empowering women. This is about addressing inclusivity and making it far easier for women to train for and join our industry.  We want to help create new heroes for the young girls who dream big and better support and ultimately more bright futures for the women who choose to walk this path."
- Gavin Martin

"Women in Action" is an initiative and campaign created by the ISA and our founders to create a better on-ramp into the industry, better promote gender diversity and equality and empowering young girls and women to pursue their dreams of becoming stunt performers and action actors.

Gender is a scary topic to debate these days and nobody can get this right for everyone, but we cannot deny that we have seethe issues young women face when considering joining the Stunt Industry, or when working in the Entertainments industry. So, this effort is our way of trying to address that. We're deeply proud to maintain an equal split of male and female amongst our students most years and The ISA is committed to providing access to training programs, mentorship opportunities, and female-specific support to improve the on-ramp into the industry.

Through talking to women at all stages of their career (including pre-enrolment), listening and learning, adapting, providing female-specific support, famous Female-Mentors, scholarships and much more, we aim to make it far easier to dream of being a stunt woman, to sign up for courses, to train and qualify, and be helped into work.

We aim to champion women working in our industry, and by doing this we can present them as the positive role models for more young women to look up to, follow, or be mentored by, and clear the path for more young female students to train and enter the wonderful world of entertainment work.

We believe that by working together, we can create a better future for young girls and women in the entertainment industry, where everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed."

Our Call to Action

The International Stunt Academy invites all individuals, organizations, and industry partners who support gender diversity and equality, and who want to help us in our mission to address this within the  entertainment industry, to join the "Women in Action" campaign and help create a better future for young girls and women in our industry.

Here are some of the ways you can support this campaign:

  1. Scholarships
you can fund scholarships for women who are interested in pursuing a career in stunt and action acting. This could be in full or partial funding to help covering the cost of living expenses while training, equipment or other expenses associated with their course.

  2. Donations
We accept donations to support our "Women in Action" campaign and its mission. Donations can be used towards funding scholarships, establishing new outreach or training programs, assisting with the creation of mentorship opportunities, PR, or other initiatives that promote gender diversity and equality in the entertainment industry.

  3. Sponsorships
We are open to partnerships with other brands and sponsors who share our vision and are willing to invest in our cause. Sponsorship could include financial support, resources, or expertise to help us achieve our goals.

  4. Raising Awareness

The easiest way of all is to use your voice and social media channels to raise awareness about the our campaign and the importance of gender diversity and equality in the entertainment industry. Share our female students content, talk them up, share stories of successful female stunt performers and actors, share statistics and data on gender inequality in the industry, and share our calls to action to join the campaign.

  5. Mentorship
We are actively seeking to recruit Female Instructors and Mentors for our students. This could include just making time for a video call, visiting the ISA to meet and talk or actively taking students under your wing and helping them into work. We're open to discussions with industry professionals who can offer ideas, guidance, support, or advice on how to help young women into courses and graduates to navigate the path into the industry.

  6. Volunteering
you can offer to volunteer to support the "Women in Action" campaign in some way. Volunteers can help with fundraising initiatives, event planning, social media engagement and management, or any other tasks that support the campaign's goals and objectives.
