Unlike shorter, experience-only courses, we provide deep, thorough training in many aspects of fire dynamics, safety, coordination, site management, equipment and materials and Fire Stunt execution.

Course Overview
Day 1: Core Fire Safety & Equipment Training

• Theory: Introduction to fire knowledge and dynamics, safety gear, burns and first aid, and risk assessment basics.
• Practical: Dry training on Extinguishing techniques and intro to the PPE.
• Evening: Study materials and familiarise with Risk Assessment documentation.

Day 2: Advanced Risk Management & Planning

• Theory: In-depth risk mitigation, legal framework, and stunt planning.
• Practical: Hands-on rehearsal of fire stunts and workspace setup.
• Homework: Finalise your fire stunt plan and risk assessments.

Day 3+4: Certification & Planning for your Fire Stunt

• Exam: Fire Safety Crew Certification (online).
• Practical: Final stage planning and rehearsals for your final fire stunt, including an acting workshop to assist you with getting the best results!

Day 4-5: Fire Stunt Performances

• Setup, gel up and perform and film your final fire stunt, all supported by our pro crew and under professional guidance and supervision.

• Fire Safety Crew Certificate (valid for 2 years)
• Fire Stunt Performer Certificate (no expiry)

This course and all materials are delivered in English Language.
Custom courses and bespoke Fire Stunt Training are also available on request.
Additional training in other disciplines can be added to your stay upon request. 

This course includes 1 part-body burn. Additional burns / stunts can be purchased as upgrades.

Participants must bring their own 100% wool Base Layers (long legs and sleeves) + wool socks.
Polyester / Nylon / Wool Blend base layers are not permitted for use in Fire Stunts (we will teach you why!).
The ISA provides the additional Fire-resistant layers and professional cold and fire gel's.

Fire Stunts usually happen on the Friday evening, ideally after dark for best visual effect. Performances are outdoors and this means weather can influence the schedule. We recommend you plan to travel home on the Saturday or Sunday after the course wraps up.
Transport to and from the Academy is by taxi, your own vehicle (free parking) or we can arrange a pickup / drop off service to and from local stations and hotels for an additional fee. Nearest Rail Station is Skarnes. 

Safety First! Fire Stunts, if done correctly, are safe but this type of work requires a mature and professional approach at all times. Unsafe behaviour or inability to follow instruction or procedure may result in you being unable to participate. No refunds will be given if you are unable to work and train safely.  

All participants of ISA Courses choose to take part at their own risk. We believe strongly in fostering informed consent for performers meaning you will be involved in the planning and be very aware of methods, risks and how we work to reduce them. Participants are required to sign a waiver before they perform the practical work and Fire Stunts.

Non-Norwegian Citizens: On arrival we require to take a copy of your Passport and your Travel Insurance certificate, which must include Health Cover.  No data is retained or used and any copies of personal documents will be deleted after you complete the course. 

The ISA accepts no responsibility for lost or damaged personal items during your time with us and any damage to our facilities or equipment will be charged to you.
