Description

Our academy is built around a former school. This means that everything is to a good standard and all doors / corridors are wide and wheelchair friendly. The lift between our floors is no longer in use so access to the upper floor is via the main stairs. The lower floor is wheelchair accessible from the rear of the building. The carpark and road up to the academy is gravel, the yard between the main building and accommodation block is paved. The path that leads around the rear of the building is tarmac (there are some bumps). The grassed areas are left wild but kept trimmed so please be aware that this is not a ‘perfect lawn’.  The Academy features blue single phase power outlets in various points on each floor and throughout all the corridors and rooms there are many 13amp power outlets.  While there is some cat6 cabling and networking thoughout the building we use Wifi which covers every floor and room. There is also good mobile signal throughout the entire building. Most rooms feature strip lighting overhead which ensures plenty of light. All the windows are large so there is plenty of daylight throughout our building. Not listed below are the many storage rooms and offices that are also located around each floor of the building. On each floor there are Wheelchair accessible toilets, apart from on the lower floor (used for our gymnasiums). Shower facilities are available on the lower floor.
