The International Stunt Academy offers an exciting and unique 3-day Sword Workshop aimed at helping you to rapidly explore and develop your sword work, adding authenticity to your skills as a Samurai / Japanese Warrior. 

Bertan is one of The ISA's Weapons Specialists and our
guest instructor of Sword work for Screen fighting.
Bertan's Background with the Katana includes:

• 5 years of training in Japanese Weaponry under the Tenshin Shōden Katori Shintō-ryū style
• Diploma in Stunts and Action Acting, majoring in his Sword work and Samurai Combat Techniques
• Many public / live displays and Sword fighting showcases 

During this course you will learn and practice the ways of the Samurai, gathering essential etiquette and learning useful techniques before you progress into learning our looping choreo's. Finally you'll screen fight your way through a Previs before we film a sequence. After the course you'll recieve an edited short film you can put online and add to your Stunt Reel / Acting Reel.

This course issues you with an ISA Certificate of Completion.

• Afternoon Class. Strikes & Cuts, Footwork & Stance. Blocks & Evasions

• Morning Class. Basics Redux. Applied Screenfighting for Diverse Camera Angles
• Afternoon Class. Acting & Choreography

​Day 3: 
• Morning Class: Final Previs
• Afternoon Class: Filming, wrap up and departure

Public transport directly to the Academy is unavailable. Nearest Rail Station is Skarnes, taxi's are available. We can provide a pickup / drop off from the nearest station which must be booked in advance (400 NOK per person, each way). Safety First! Wire Work requires a mature and professional approach at all times. Unsafe behaviour or inability to follow procedure may result in you being unable to participate. No refunds will be given if you are unable to train and work safely.  All participants of ISA Courses choose to take part at their own risk and are required to sign a waiver before they perform their stunts.  The ISA accepts no responsibility for lost or damaged personal items. Any damage to our rooms or equipment will be charged at checkout and must be settled in full.  All fees are paid in advance to secure your booking.
