This 5-day immersive and action-packed course is designed to rapidly train and prepare Actors and Stunt Performers to ride horses with confidence and perform awe-inspiring horse stunts.

Q: What if I'm new to horseback riding?
A: It's ok, past experience helps but this course accommodates riders of all levels. Whether you are new to riding or an experienced equestrian. Our trained instructors and well-mannered, specially trained horses will make sure you get the training you need, at the pace that is right for you.

Course Overview
Monday to Wednesday: 

• 3 days of Rapid Training: Riding Lessons with expert instructors. You'll quickly start to look, feel and ride like a pro

Thursday:

• Morning Riding Session (09:30 am - 11:30 am): Finalise your riding skills with a shorter session.
• Afternoon Stunt Lessons (01:00 pm - 05:00 pm): Delve into stunt techniques, provided with a horse and helper. This day we focus on jumping onto and off the horse and some other tricks.

Friday:

• Stunt Mastery (09:30 am - 05:00 pm): Stunt Falls from your horse, more advanced tricks and we end the day with a horse drag.

Evening and Lunch Discussions:

• Global Riding Styles: Understand how riding techniques vary across geographies and historical periods.
• Riding Theory: Gain a solid understanding of the 'why' behind horse riding.
• Historical Context: Learn about war tactics, cavalry training, and historical riding styles.
• Horse Communication: Practical tips on understanding horse body language.
• Film Study: Analyze riding styles in different films.

Our Expert Team are specialised in Horse Riding and Stunts for Film, TV & Live Entertainments:

• Pelle: A world-renowned jouster with over twenty years as a full-time riding instructor and film work experience.
• Hanne: Pelle's riding instructor with an astonishing 55 years of riding experience.
• The Crew: Our team of experienced riders and horse trainers are experts in all things equestrian.
• VIP Stunt Coach: John Smith Kabashi, Founder of The ISA, Horse Stunts are one of John's specialisms 

About The Facilities

• Located in the beautiful countryside of Southern Norway
• Truly unique location with lots of varied terrain, forest and purpose built medieval jousting facilities (used to International Tournaments)
• Accommodation Monday to Thursday night at the Riding Centre in small woodfire-stove heated cabins.
• Open pavilion "The Green Dragon" for cooking and BBQ.
• Includes Transportation during the week. We pick you up from the local station and drop you back at the end of the course

Additional Information

• Course Fee: Euro 1,900 / Nok 22,000 GBP 1,650
  (per person for 5 days including accommodation, horses, trainers, equipment, facilities and local transfers to / from The ISA, shops and Rail Station)
• Accommodation: Heated cabins available on-site, cooking facilities in the open pavilion.
• Food and drink: Not included. This course is delivered on a Self Catering basis unless arranged otherwise. We will take you to shops to pickup supplies. Evening BBQ's available. 
• Maximum Participants: 6 people. This ensures you get a lot of 121 expert instruction tailored to your requirements.
• Larger groups or bespoke training for productions can be arranged as a special request

Terms & Conditions

1. Safety First! Horseback riding and stunt work require a mature and professional approach at all times. Unsafe behavior or inability to follow procedure may result in your removal from the course. No refunds will be given if you are unable to train and work safely.
   
2. Pre-requisites: Riders of all experience levels are welcome, but you must be physically fit and able to participate in all activities unless otherwise stated.
   
3. Liability Waiver: All participants are required to sign a liability waiver before engaging in any riding or stunt activities.
   
4. Travel Insurance: Non-Norwegian Citizens must present a copy of their Travel Insurance certificate upon arrival, which must include Health Cover.
   
5. Accommodation: Woodfire-stove heated cabins are available on-site. Any damage to the rooms or equipment will be charged at checkout and must be settled in full.
   
6. Transport: We provide transport from The ISA to the training location on Monday and back on Friday. Please book in advance.
   
7. Course Fee: All fees must be paid in advance to secure your booking. This includes the rent of horses, facilities, and equipment but does not include food and drink.
   
8. Cancellation Policy: Due to the logistical planning involved, we require a minimum of (Insert time frame) notice for cancellations.
   
9. Weather Dependency: Courses may be subject to weather conditions, particularly considering the well-being of the horses. We will reschedule in the event of adverse conditions and are not liable for any costs related to rescheduling.
   
10. Public Transport: Public transport directly to the training location is not available. The nearest Rail Station is Skotterud; taxis are available.
    
11. Personal Items: The ISA accepts no responsibility for lost or damaged personal items during the course.
    
12. Custom Training: Bespoke training for roles or specific skill sets can also be arranged upon request.
