Are you ready to take the plunge into the adrenaline-pumping world of high falls? The International Stunt Academy offers a 2-Day High Fall Training Course.
This is a dynamic and safety-focused program that aims to train aspiring stunt performers and experienced action actors to execute falls from height with expert precision. Q: What if I'm afraid of heights? A: It's ok, this is quite normal and we are used to assisting people to overcome this problem. One benefit is our unique fall towers which are larger and more stable than most facilities offer, meaning we can come up with you and spend time there to desensitise and acclimatise to the environment / height. This means our programme and instructors will assist you and nobody is going to push you past your limits! Take the leap and discover a whole new level of skill under the guidance of our Certified ISA Instructors. Next Dates: |
Course Overview
Day 1: Standing to Landing - Morning Session (09:30am - 12:00pm)
Afternoon Session (01:00pm - 05:00pm)
Day 2: Mastering Higher Heights IMPORTANT: This is only for those who demonstrate a consistently safe approach to falls and correct landing on Day 1.
About our Fall Towers: Often High Fall training involves climbing and falling from some scary truss-towers or temporary constructions (we've seen many of them). This represents a safety concern, slows down your cycle time (how many falls you can do), and really doesn't help when you are learning or have a fear of heights. The ISA has 2 purpose built steel towers featuring proper internal staircases, decks and handrails. These really make it much easier to learn and train, and also allow for our instructors to come up with you, not just shout at you from the ground. About our Airbag: Here at ISA, we take safety seriously. That's why we've invested in a state-of-the-art custom-designed airbag, specifically optimised for high fall training. Unlike standard airbags in use throughout the world, ours features internal structures designed to reduce risks and offer a wider 'sweet spot' for landings. Working with High Falls: Although a 10m fall may seem high, the top performers in Hollywood would say that's quite low and the World Record (parachute assisted) was 335m. At The ISA we will qualify and certify you up to 10M which is a good starting level for your entry into professional work. We strongly advise a slow and consistent approach to professional high fall work as this will ensure safety and help you to develop the correct techniques and disciplines. We do not advise anyone who is new to High Falls to seek our or accept work above 10 metres too early. With higher heights the dynamics change and the chance of injury or even missing your airbag becomes a serious consideration. If you wish to train for higher falls we can arrange this but you'll have to have proven experience or pass our 10m Certificate. As you gain more experience as a performer, you'll develop the essential skills needed to venture into much higher falls, safely and consistently. This really is both a science and an art form!
