'Self Tapes' are an industry standard. They are video auditions that actors can make from home. Here are some helpful tips and step-by-step instructions for making your ISA Audition self-tape.
A self-tape is an audition video that any performer or actor can create. Typically, the performer will introduce themselves and then demonstrate their skills or act out part of a scene or monologue that is relevant to the part or role they hope to take on. These help to replace the need for traditional physical auditions and speed up the process of searching for and identifying talent. Often people are asked to submit self-tapes for casting calls, ahead of final physical auditions. There are companies that will offer self-tape services but you can easily record your self-tape at home. Self-tapes aren't testing your film-making and production skills, they are simply a quick capture of you and what you can do. Your ISA Audition Self Tape should be a quick presentation of you and include the following information:
